About this space

No Cleaning Fee and We Cover the Guest’s Service Fee! The home is close to everything, which makes it easy to plan your next visit. Only 5 minutes to downtown Pcola and ~15 to Pcola Beach. Gentrification is occurring and you’ll see a mix of homes (new to updated to those not yet revitalized), but it is quiet and safe. Contactless check-in/out via electronic front door lock. Garbage/recycle cans on location. Free WiFi. Older construction, but clean home! Park on driveway. No smoking/vaping!

The space

**Guests who are new to ABB with no recorded trips, please be prepared to answer a few questions regarding the purpose of your stay prior to stay approval due to some recent scam issues.** Now to the good stuff! 🙂 Entire Home! Host is not on site! No Cleaning Fee at Pineapple House and we cover ABB’s guest service fee! We just ask that you are kind to the home and leave it neat and orderly; we’ll still take the same great care getting the home ready for the next guest. 🙂 Pineapple House is over 60 years old and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside. It is a block-built home, which was once the rage in Florida as they can generally withstand up to 250mph wind, though they don’t tend to have the same aesthetic appeal as a traditional stick built home, therefore requiring a little more creativity with colors. 🙂 The home boasts three bedrooms and one full bath. Two bedrooms have king beds and one has a full bed. One of the king beds is lower to the floor to make access easy and it is more firm, while the other king is taller and has an additional mattress pad making it very cushioned (some have said like sleeping on a cloud). The home has central heat and air conditioning, though the largest bedroom also has an additional wall AC unit to make it extra cold. The living room and bedrooms have TVs, though you will need to use your own login credentials for access to Prime, Netflix, Hulu, etc. We do have the Tubi app installed and The Roku Channel, which have news stations and movies available with no logon needed. No cable is provided. There is a washer and dryer in the home for your use, though you will need to supply your own detergent. There is a toaster and single serve Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen, as well as all of the typical pots/pans needed to make a home meal. Spare linens for the beds are in the linen closet when booking longer than 2 night stays, as well as bath/beach/hand towels and washcloths. The dining table can seat 4 and is located in the kitchen. The back porch is covered and has solar lights that automatically come on at dusk and stay lit for a reasonable amount of time typical for most people to sit out and enjoy. There are 5 chairs and a small table on the back porch. 5 minutes to downtown Pensacola and 15-20 minutes (depending on traffic) to Pensacola Beach. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Guest access

From Pace Blvd, head West down St Mary St, then turn left (heading South) onto Q St. 2514 N Q St is approximately 1.25 blocks down on the left. Parking is in the driveway to the right of the home. We have fresh sod, so please be mindful to not park on the grass as it has a chance to take root; thank you. 🙂

Other things to note

The following notes are common questions we receive, so we figured we’d provide some answers here. This list will likely grow as we receive additional questions.

1) I have a prescription for medical marijuana, what are your rules? No smoking/vaping in or around the home! If you have a prescription for medicinal purposes that are in the vape/smoke form, please do it far from the entry doors/windows. If you are a smoker, please do so by the street, then properly extinguish the butt and dispose of it in the outside waste container.

2) Do you provide an additional discount for military/first responders? While we truly honor our military and first responders, we are unable to provide additional discounts beyond what is currently advertised; we are already one of the most price efficient hosts in the area, plus we don’t charge for cleaning and cover the ABB service charge.

3) Why don’t you charge a cleaning fee like others? We feel that guests who aren’t charged a cleaning fee will help us out by keeping the home as tidy as possible. We still pay our cleaning team a fair wage, but that comes out of our pocket based on the hours put into the home. The cleaner the home, the less we pay, and therefore we can keep the overall cost of the home down for our guests.

4) Are there any TVs in the home, and if so, what channels are provided? A TV is provided in the living room and each king bedroom; they are FireTVs with Tubi and The Roku Channel (no account needed), as well as Netflix, Amazon, etc available for you to log in with your existing account credentials. Cable/antenna is not provided at this time, though Tubi has news, movies, etc, which are similar to cable television.

5) How close is the home to the beach? ~20 minutes. The airport? ~10 minutes. Downtown Pensacola? ~5 minutes.

6) How’s the noise level? The home is across the street from an elementary school, where buses do arrive early morning and mid afternoon on school days, though aren’t generally noticeable. Occasionally the school will have extracurricular activities that might be observed/heard, but do not impede the overall use of Pineapple House and don’t tend to run late. Neighbors do have dogs, though are fenced and generally taken inside their homes at night.

7) Where do I place my garbage? We have waste bins in each bedroom and the bathroom for regular garbage. We also have a garbage bin and recycle bin in the kitchen inside of a cabinet. The primary cans, garbage (green top) and recycle (grey top), are to the right of the home. Garbage/recycle pickup is on Thursdays, so we will be drive by on Wednesday at some random time to move the cans to the street, then back by on Thursday/Friday to move them back to the right of the home; no interaction with the guest is needed during those times.

8) How do we check-in? Will you meet us at the home? We offer contactless check-in and out. You will be given a 4 digit code to enter the home via keypad at the front door. The code will be the last 4 digits of your phone number used at the time of booking.

9) When is yard work performed? Yard duties are performed during non-booked dates as to not interfere with guests, though during the busier season with back-to-back dates booked, we may need to perform some yard duties while a guest is staying; during those times, we will alert the guest ahead of time as needed.

10) How is parking? The driveway is a single car width drive, but 2-3 cars can be stacked one behind the other to fit. There is also enough room for 1-2 cars parked horizontally by the street on the dirt section of the yard. Please don’t park on the grass due to engine heat and leaks tend to damage the lawn that struggles as it is with our Florida heat.

11) Can I check in early or check-out late? An early check-in or check-out is available, up to 2 hours before/after scheduled arrival/departure time, for an additional $50 charge if requested 24+ hours prior to check-in. We don’t charge for cleaning, though still pay for it, therefore we get a substantial discount by allowing ourselves to be on housekeeping’s schedule with whatever works best for them. For $50, they will allow us to schedule a specific time for housekeeping so that we can work with a guest’s early arrival or late departure; we simply pass this cost over to the guest.
